Norman Townsend

Meet Norman Townsend, a 100 Club Heart of Texas member since 2013, currently serving on the Board of Directors.

 

Norman spent 31 years of his career in professional law enforcement. He worked as a Special Agent for four years with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, followed by 27 years as a Special Agent with the FBI assigned to Beaumont, Laredo, and Waco. After retiring from the FBI in 2011, he spent nine years as an Instructor and Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at McLennan Community College.

 

In his career, Norman received numerous awards and recognitions. He received the Federal Officer of the Year Award from the 100 Club of Jefferson County in 1992 and the United States Attorney General’s Award for Exceptional Service in 2000.

 

Norman is active in the community, serving on the MCC Criminal Justice Advisory Board and the Waco Police Department Training Advisory Board. He loves working with the 100 Club Heart of Texas because he gets to support the families of first responders and work with others who are dedicated and unselfish in their service to the organization. Within the 100 Club Heart of Texas, Norman would love to see growth so the organization can provide more benefits to the families of first responders killed or disabled due to service to the community.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family. He has been married to his wife Susan since 1975, and together they have two children and seven grandchildren. Norman loves playing golf and maintaining his physical fitness.
