Meet Dennis Stapleton, who goes by Denny. He is a founding member of the 100 Club Heart of Texas and is now a board member. In his current role, he is responsible for assisting with the benefit process and expanding to neighborhood communities.

 

Denny is a retired Police and Fire Chief who served for 35 years. Now, he is an Assistant Criminal Justice Professor. Throughout his career, Denny was awarded Officer of the Year for Woodway Public Safety Department in 1986, Administrator of the Year for the City of Lacy Lakeview in 2001, and the Jefferson Award for Volunteerism.

 

Outside his professional career, he’s been involved with various leadership roles within his church, served on multiple boards and committees on a local and state-wide level, volunteered for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and volunteered at the Texas Special Olympics for 15 years. Denny loves serving others and says it is his mission to give back.

 

Denny has been married to his wife since 1980 and loves spending time with her, their two daughters, and seven grandchildren in his free time. He also likes camping, hiking, yard work, and traveling.
